My Daily Docket

Days are passing by, and gradually, I am cherishing my stay at home with family….
For me, the dawn bumps in at around 10 or 10.30 a.m. and hitherto; volleys of honey coated allocutions hit me like avalanche by everyone. The conventional lectures on my survival in corporate world with this lackadaisical attitude, was a routine. But now, they have acclimatized in lieu of me. Never mind, I eavesdrop and yet again, seize a nap before actually getting up. The day still resumes with me slouching, listening & dancing on the incessant songs on FM and compelling everyone to beat a feet with me. Wherefore, they deem me as a berserk….!!! Well, quite often, I second their thoughts…. :) As the clock strikes 12.30 or 1, my bed drags me and I find myself in the arms of cozy blanket all over again.
Indeed, for me the day starts by 3 or 4 in the afternoon with eating and just eating. The moment I abstain of eating, I become anorexic for my family. Afterwards, I spend some time with my newly formed ally, the kitchen where I try my hand on making new cuisines which is no easy as beans. Withal to that, I vigorously have to learn some religious lessons from my Granny which are altering me to a pious soul. The only person who acts as an abettor is my loving Grandpa. He is jovial, cordial (though um not saying others are not) but he provides a solace, and is always by my side. Anyways, with the advent of dusk, I leave for an evening walk with my Mum where I share several, if not all the impish instants befallen in college life.
Later in evening, my Dad instills the zeal in me to ameliorate my driving skills. Though, initially while driving, I averted many pedestrians and animals to attain the nirvana and almost reincarnated them, but now I have certainly transformed into a honed chauffeur. And then comes the most anticipated time…..the time I come online and chitchat with my friends and cousins. It surely rejuvenates the youth in me after enduring the daylong domestic activities. Life surely seems to be missing its essence without chatting and FBing. :)
Well, to wrap up, I can state that yes, I am enjoying this hiatus of 2 months at home which rolled in perhaps after 2 years and will probably never gonna come back….!!!!!!!

Perfidy in Friendship

I desired of making this as my 1st blog but somehow feared of not getting acceptance from the readers.
So here’s a Disclaimer: It's not directed towards anyone, it’s being framed out of feelings, so just read it as another blog written by an amateur.
It’s a very trite but emotive topic; the one um sure must have made all of us affianced to it.
For once, I used to think Betrayal was in vogue. Every time I trusted a comrade and the next thing I blessed with -Infidelity. The reason for alienation is still vague to me, but that was surely an era when my only companion was “Me”. Sharing of feelings was something, I became ignorant of. Still the irony is: I too may have hurt few of them, but I can always confer a reason behind my (considered) sins.
“Best friend” was something that was being obliterated from my word dictionary. I doubted the presence of a single person who can take care of someone unconditionally. So consequently the word “friend” also got affected (according to the butterfly effect) :). All the past circumstances related to that individual seem to give no authentification to the bond of friendship and was labeled as superfluous. Albeit, someone preached me with the significance of having friends in life and the instants when & where only friends can assist in life, but my own sermons ruled over & henceforth friendship was mulled over as just another selfish trait where you receive kindness only because you revert in some or the other way. I only had one axiom in life “Never expect anything from anyone”, which in a way I follow till date, although with tad amendments.

But with the advent of time, I was persistently enforced by circumstances to acknowledge the truth of life, reckoning the fact that we are fractional without the support of friends. From helping out in the speck of things to doing the needful as it when necessary, they are the creatures on whom one can count upon any time. I surrendered to the fact but subsequently became more judicious in choosing my friends to shrink the effect of betrayal. But it made me learn one vital lesson in life which is not to get involve too much with everyone, that it becomes painful to overcome at time when you get hurt by the same person.

So now, I am fairly content with the friends I have (the ones with whom I had misunderstandings and fights before, but still are friends to the ones with whom the journey of friendship has so far been so smooth) and give a damn to those who transformed from friends to acquaintances.
Hence, maybe most of the civic would disagree, but I now think of making MANY good friends in spite of a single BEST FRIEND, so that when one hurts, you have many others to share your concern. Though I am cognizant that everyone occupies a unique place in heart but then, it can certainly help to diminish the tough feelings one go through after the trauma of perfidy.

Today the boredom was at its pinnacle….and that’s when I decided to work on my research project. The topic of my project is broadcasting services in India, where I have to compare AAJ Tak with all other news channels.
The rationale behind the topic was that I got a “readymade” report from somewhere, :) but its outdated. So to keep it updated, :)I thought why not to get the concrete information and what better than actually viewing all the news channels live. So I started to watch TV with AAJ TAK on top of my priority list in watching channels. And believe me in the next 1 hr, all what I saw was only SRK’s news of movie release and hoopla created by media. The top story was “Khan ki jeet, Sena ki haar” :) and the news of some communities who are against Valentines idea and the destruction caused by them in various cities.
It’s not just about Aaj Tak but news channels like NDTV are also in league. And to top the chart for showing all the crap news is INDIA TV. Suddenly then, while scrolling, I took a halt and saw news on DD1. The 8.30 pm prime news time and subsequently in next half an hour, I was enlightened with ongoing Telangana issue, some international news of some American university (I was not able to follow it as I got busy in a phone call), Vancouver Winter Olympics and India South Africa Test news. So in a nutshell, I was well versed with Indian, International and Sports news and that too in just hour an hour. I am not saying that I got the perfect business news which we MBA grads are required 2 follow vehemently but then I got an easy escape from all the shoddy news shown by other news channels.
However this just leaves me with 1 question……that why DD National is not able to catch the attention of majority of “URBAN” people when it shows all the relevant news. And why despite being exaggerated as the no. 1 news channel, AAJ TAK is deteriorating its quality.
Well, all what I can best understand is….Marketing takes its toll everywhere….. From how you promote your product (channel) to how to build a brand image (no.1 news channel). It surely has a hand besides all the doings.
